alright, im 19 and just recently got my 8. My insurance averages around 80 bucks a month and payments are less than 300 a mo. My car is an 05 VR MT. I have a full time job and just recently went from full time student to part time. I am paying for all of it myself. It was priced at 14k. But I also got a 2 year/ unlimited mile warranty on it. My dad cosigned for me, so I managed to get a 5.99% rate instead of the 7% everyone offered. So, in the end, my loan amount is arond 17k for a lovely 5 years.
I've had only one speeding ticket, which was deffered (driving a 96 mercury mystique). So, I have absolutely no points (for now..). :D I absolutely LOVE my car.

I just turned 18, I got the car at the end of April for my graduation present, I do have to pay for half of it though, since my budget for a graduation car was only 10k. Since I got it I've been backed into and rear ended, within two weeks of each other, but then I used the insurance money from those to get my bumpers fixed and a Borla exhaust, which sounds very nice by the way. It's a six speed, wouldn't have it any other way. The car is so much fun to drive and handles like a dream. I'm looking forward to buying a Mazdaspeed CAI. Hopefully that'll be coming soon.
Edit: I've had zero speeding tickets with my 8, but my insurance is pretty freaking high anyways since I'm so young.

With "mazdaspeed" you'll be paying a premium that way exceeds the value of the part. I suggest the Racing beat or AEM CAI... the MS should work fine though, so it's your choice. :-D
From what i've seem the MS part is almost $100 more than the AEM. Racing beat is the same price as the MS part, but It's a bit more advanced.

Hmm.... Hasn't there been a pattern with AEM's CAI giving the 8 problems? I've got a K&N in mine, spent 200 for it (used... but hey) and I havent had any problems with it yet. (only been installed for a month... maybe...)
