Any way of telling the production number of a 40th anniv?

Looking at one locally but just wondering if there is a way of finding out the actual production number out of the 1000 made. If anyone has any info, I'd appreciate it alot. I'm going to call the local dealer tomorrow to see if they have any clue (doubtful).

There's gotta be some number on the vin that will tell you, I'd imagine. Just don't know where that is exactly.

how many 40th's are they selling? There's a thread that explains all the VIN info, so if you find that thread you might find a difference that separates the 40th editions.

so apparently the last 4 digits tell the story, and i'd assume the numbers are between 5000-7000. i tried to autocheck and carfax alot of random vin's between those 4 last numbers, but alot of them don't come up since they are all brand new untitled cars. it'd probably be easier to figure out possible actual numbers if the first and last vin was known...
