Any plans for RX7?
I will be getting a new RX8 soon and will be saving up for the 3 rotor engine. I love the mazda look though which moreso got me wanting the RX8. Buuuuuuuut... I heard rumors that a new RX7 is coming soon... Anyone know of this? I tried finding good information on the car and the newest model I found was a '95. So I assume they stopped producing for a bit. I saw some other stuff but could go on for a while talking about the sites, so, yea. Sticking with question at hand...
If you have some information on 'coming soon' rx7's let us know. If you have some good sites for us to check out let us know that, too.
O yea. What was the highest performance STOCK rx7 engine? This guy on another site told me it was a twin turbo engine pushing 475 beating a ducati bike in a drag race.... But I am skeptical.... For a number of reasons...

Are you trying to **** off the whole forum? For the love of god search.
There is NO definitive information regarding a new rx-7, period. Anyone who says anything otherwise is full of ****. We've all been hearing about the New RX-7 and a USDM released Mazdaspeed RX8's forever, with no results. Until one is formally introduced by mazda, don't believe anything anyone says about a potential new RX.
As for the performance of the FD rx7's try rx7club.com if you want to learn more about those.

Some people have gotten 93+ RX-7s to about 350 with no internal modifications.
However from the factory the highest HP was 255 (US Spec) and 276 (JPN spec) by the end of the FD's run in 2002. Heavily modified production-based engines can pump out hundreds more HP.
You'll find some decent historical info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_RX-7

For all you other dumb *** childish impatient ***** who clearly didn't finish reading my post understanding that i DID do research and I DID look online.... GROW.... UP.... The question was not to help me research the basics, it was to help me research the major (if any) problems of the 350Z. In other words... If you have one or know a person who has one do they have any major problems. Leg room is not a problem... torque is not a problem.... Shifting to 3rd with a initial grinding is a problem... reving the engine and hearing or getting abnormal vibration is a problem... Get it? Go play WOW if your going to talk sensless **** about things you don't know...

There is no hint anywhere from Mazda or from any of their road testing that should lead anyone to believe that we will ever see another RX-7 again. It's just not going to happen. The RX-7 is dead people. Accept it. There is credible evidence to suggest that we will see another RX-8 though. A year and a half ago at Sevenstock a slightly inebriated Yamguchi-san accidentally mentioned that he was testing the transmission for the next RX-8. Plans always change at car manufacturers so you never know if it will actually make it to production but at least that much was a possibilty at one point. The RX-7 on the other hand is gone. We've been hearing those rumors since before the last one was even out of production. wishful thinking keeps the rumor going.

I believe it's in the new issue of Car and Driver, possibly Road and Track who has a picture and story of the RX-7 concept, but it's probably all bullsh*t; as Rotarygod said, just to keep the rumors going.

I know it's probably bullshit, but I would love it if they would release the 7 again. Mazda definitely needs a no compromise sports car, (flagship) and the 7 would be perfect. the 8 is more of a family sports sedan. they need something that will straight up rape the 350z, not just kinda keep up.
