Any interior dimensions available
I'm looking for things like headroom/legroom.
Bottom line - I fit in a Gen II RX-7 but couldn't even get INTO a Gen III.
I'm 6'1 with a long torso and long legs and so frankly most sports cars on the market don't fit me; I'm comfy in a Jeep Wrangler, though. :D
So, are there headroom specs? I know four adults will fit, but that doesn't mean someone 6'1 will fit behind the drivers seat without having the gauges blocked by the steering wheel, having to force their legs under the wheel getting in or having their head in the headliner.
Thanks in advance; I've been lurking here forever but finally registered to lose the "dark blue" theme so I could actually READ the board.
I won't even talk about how annoying it was that Mazda announced pre-sales about two weeks after I purchased my current vehicle, or that the fact that neither of the TWO local Mazda dealers who have had me on their "call me" list since 2001 or so have bothered to to date...

Good'ay
At the Melbourne Motor Show Michael Klim (Australian Olympic Swimmer, 6'3") sat in both the front seat and then the rear without moving the front seat. I know people vary in regard to leg length versus torso length but it reassured me (6'4") that the car was still a great chance for me.

I think the C&D article not only gave the parameters of the head, shoulder and leg room but gave a real world judgement - like that the rear seat passengers can get their feet Under the front seats, and it appears they can sit up straight while doing it.

Good'ay Danomite
The Melbourne Motor Show RX-8 did not have Moon/Sun Roof. We were advised that Australian RX-8s would not come with Moon/Sun Roof. We were given various reasons all of which have been mentioned in other threads but the main issue was structural integrity??????
I recon you're gunna fit just fine. The jury is still out on whether I will.

Of course I think you are lucky. I want the base model but with leather as the only add on. In the USA you gotta get a loaded RX-8 to get leather. Therefore, I will live with cloth. Of course, cloth lasts longer, is grippie and lower cost. It's just that I have always had cloth and for once I wanted to try leather. I guess it will have to wait for another car.

I am not all that fussed on getting the leather I find it can be pretty hot in our climate.
In Australia we are getting two manual (we won't talk about the other way of driving a car) versions. The upper spec. vehicle has the leather, electric drivers seat, fog lights, HID Xenon lights and the Bose sound system. Adds about $6K. All have the sports suspension, 18"wheels etc.
I only really wanted the lights and the sound system but I don't believe we have those as individual options.
Still can't decide on a colour.
