Air bag narness replaced...
Wow, when my airbag light went on the other week... I was a little concerned about what I was going to have to deal with at the dealer. Biggers Mazda in Elgin (IL) took it in and literally (apparently per a service bulletin I can't seem to locate) took out seats, console, and carpeting (front and rear) and re-wired the entire car for the air bag harness (wiring bundle)!
It took 3 days to get it done and she's a little dustier on the inside than I like... but everything is AOK again...
Anyone else have an airbag light go off and have to go through this massively invasive procedure on their baby?

Bought the car June 9,2007 brought it home June 13,2007
Started to practice driving stick in August 2007 for my license in September. When I was out driving with my dad I said this light shouldn't be on and I didn't have the 2004 manual.
Took it to the dealer after numerous bad phone calls saying it was to say there was a passenger in the seat.
Took it in for service because I had a gut feeling it was bad.
Harness in passenger seat went bad. Then put my baby back to order and then the driver was also dead ripped her apart. Got her back covered under my btb warranty. Cost like $2400 or something I think the bill was

Holy crap! Yes, mine is an '05 but she's only got 35k miles (I only drive her in the late spring/summer/early fall... ) so it was all covered under warranty!
I can't imagine having to do this on my own dime... damn.
Thanks for the replies.
