ABS and DSC Tuning

Is there a way to modify the parameters for which the abs and dsc activate and how strongly they come on?

I find it very annoying driving around having the abs kick in on various corners when I have taken them much faster in my lifted jeep. But the one instance where I went roundy-round on the way into a parking lot makes me want to leave it on, just in case. Is there any software that can alter these parameters? Maybe the Cobb accessport?

This is the first vehicle I have had that even has ABS let alone Traction control so I'm used to not having them, just not in a performance vehicle or something with perfect weight distribution.

I will openly admit to being technologically illiterate, so I would have to pay someone for the "tune", just want to know if its possible.

Nope.....you can shut it off though Read your manual

I`m surprised that you are having problems with it though...the stability control on the 8 isn`t too bad...compared to Bimmers especially

I'm not aware of anyone testing in this area. I'd personally be a bit paranoid to mess with it, because a wrong figure can cause the DSC to think you are in a spin when you are not, and react in a way that takes a safe situation and makes it dangerous.

Example, shift your steering wheel 1 split off center, leave the DSC engaged and enter a corner that curves the opposite direction. The DSC will apply full ABS to one front and the opposing rear wheel to "bring the car in line", and it's hair-raising. Yes, this happened to me at a moment of thoughtlessness about what the 1 spline off would do. I am VERY VERY lucky I didn't lose my 8 that day.

That being said, yes, I expect the information is on a set of tables somewhere in the ECU, likely accessible through the higher versions of AccessPORT software.

I would say something is wrong with with the rotational circumferences of your tires, not the DSC coding though. I can break traction (slightly) without it coming on at all, especially in low speed hard cornering. I've even done an autocross course with it on accidentally and not getting any interference at all for the first 2/3rd of the course.

Both ABS and DSC on the RX-8 are stone age tech... the DSC is just crap best turned off.

the ABS needs to be reporgrammed abit.
