YaY !

Now I need to make an appointment to bring my car in for MSP16. Its good to know that its 100K miles now

U know what, it will be great if they can extend the powertrain warranty to 100K ... cuz I think I always worry about the transmission more than engine.

I feel sorry for the people that were just out of warranty for miles/time, and replaced their engine full price, than this came out.

Are you over 80K miles like me?

Does this now mean we can get MSP16 done under warranty?

If so........hehehe I was just at the dealer last weekend and they were nice about it but said no can do, sorry, I was over 80K.

i received a package with a dvd, i received the letter stating of the extended warranty for all 2004-2008 rx8, i would scan the letter but im not home. The letter comes with a reimbursement page to fill out if you had the engine replaced these are the requirements:
1. you own a 04-08 rx8

2. you have paid inspection, repair, or replacement of rotary engine core components due to any failures. NOTE: rotary engine core components include rotary housing and internal oarts and internal seals and gaskets.

3. you have an original or legible copy of the paid repair order or invoice receipt showing:
-description of the concern
-inspection, repair or replacement of rotary engine core components due to any failures
-itemized parts and labor charges
-vehicle model and year and vin
-repair date
-repair mileage
-name adress and telephone number of the authorized mazda dealer or a licensed repair shop where such repairs were performed
-your name and adrress at the time of repair

So in other words...it's ok to keep redlining and molesting our 8s some more even once we pass the 50k/4 year mark. That's great. But I bet there are several other components that probably won't be able to handle 100,000 miles of abuse though. Oh well, at least the heart is covered.

(Oh wow, this was my 2,000th post... )

Can anybody investigate if this will happen overseas as well? a new engine costs 12000€ here in Italy so it would be a wonderful news.

Even though I'm a firm believer that the best warranty is the one you don't have to use, this is great news.
