Your owners manual has a neat little chart in it that explains the recommended maintenance at specific intervals.

Actually, the owners manual shows the required maintenance that needs to be done. Your dealer will recommend much more, but you can turn those recomendations down and it will not effect your warranty. I just hit 30,000 too and my dealers recommended maintenance was $600. I went with just the required stuff from the owners manual and it ran me like $40.

^ yeah, but good luck actually getting your dealer to do half the stuff it calls for.

i called 2 dealers in my area one was mazda dealer in fairhaven, MA called O'hare mazda the other was in middletown, RI and i got two completely different answers...one quoted me at 250$ or 450$ the Ohare quoted me at $650....they are both retarded when it came to answering my questions about maintenance but i think im going to take the advice of the owners manual....Dont you think all dealers should have the same price quotes...i think its ridiculous that i get completely different quotes everytime i need something done...we need to get a petition letter and have it signed by everyone and send this to Mazda this **** is ridiculous

It is all based on which interval maintenance chart you look at in the owner's manual (I think there are two or three differet charts). I am almost ready to hit 30K, and I will be changing the tranny oil and rear differential for a fraction of the cost of what a dealer would charge, and based on the diy sections on this site, it seems pretty simple to do.

I think the most expensive stuff would be the belts. Rest of the stuff comes in like what 3-4 bux each ?
