I guess... When I went to the Dragon with her (hence the brake bleed prior to the trip) I was turning off the TC/DSC. Sometimes I would forget, it would take a few turns to realize it was stepping in.

Daily driving in Florida? (Car was sold new in Boca Ratton and lived there for it first years on the road) I never turn it off and never feel it step in.

But, that is a viable explanation as to why the car ate its pads up so fast. My wife ran a few AX runs with it on by accident. I also did. Plus I have no idea how bad of a driver the original owner was.

I would look up lemon laws in your state. For example IL has a law that if your situation they probably would of refunded your money back or something.

MY 8 is fixed people. Bad coils was the issue,normal problem. Let me clear up a few things...As far as being a girl going into a dealership for services, I am very well taken care of,my car is under warranty and im not going to go elsewhere to a fluke to mess itup. My tech is great and he'll be the only one to continue to fix/repair any issues I have with it. I dont ever get charged for anything except oil changes, which is discounted always. The reason my car is an auto is due to having a newborn and a special needs 3yr old at the time of purchase,last thing I needed to worry about is shifting gears. Last I checked Ive known to drive a manual for over 10years. Not sure why he said I couldnt as he knows better. Ive had alot of problems out of my 2010,but nothing they havent fixed or ignored. High maintenced cars what can you say?

Well, if you are nilesracing's wife, you and him probably need to get on the same page as to how you feel about the car. He seems to hate the thing with a passion, while you sound like you enjoy it very much.

We're glad they fixed the issue for you, as coils that fail after many tens of thousand of miles is a common issue with the car. Hopefully, the coil fix might have also resolved any issues with rough shifting he was describing, too. He never really followed up with any of the complaints that he had about the car after the repair.

I really dont think its the size or the pad quality imho, but rather maybe a abs flaw? Maybe one pad was shot and they replaced both didnt get to see them so who knows if it had a bad machined caliper.. I talked with the tech the other day and asked if they did a compression test on it when it came in on the rollback, his awnser i dunno i didnt work on it?? Im not allowed to work on it any more from your service advisor we had a fall out. So im like great hes supposedly the only one there even trained to work on a rx8. I wish the owner of mazda would chime in here and say look im gonna trade you out of that car, send it back to the guys that built it say take it apart i wannna know what they did wrong. But hey that will never happen kinda like buying a failed new starter from autozone that takes two hours to put on, take it off the bench test it tell you its fine must be somethin else so re installed nothing take drop off mechanic he installs a napa starter on his own uses my new az one as a core so i was screwed once again but hey the truck was fixed.
