2008 40th Anniversary
So I wanted to get some of your thoughts on this. I just traded in my Touring 04 (VR) for a 40th Anniversary 2008 model. I'm paying basically 7k in addition to the trade. What do you guys think?

Far as looks go, I'd say the 40AE is the best looking RX8. Makes me wish I had waited a year. Now whether you think it was a good deal, that depends on what you got for the trade vs what you could have sold it for.

Coolness.. I love the car... I was looking at the R3 but they took 11k off the MSRP for the 40AE vs that + interest for a car that I didn't necessarily like the look of. It seems that they went overboard with the plastic trim on the 09s lol...

From the rest of the 04-08 series? Not really. You have the same upgrades that the 05 and 06 Shinkas have, just called 40th AE instead of Shinka, and only available in that interior/exterior color.
Gratz, sounds like a decent move.

Well I just drove it home tonight. I will take some pics in the morning when I get home and post some them. I need to take the title back to the dealer with my down payment and take the old 8 so I can get my arc air diverter and mishimoto intake out. they get the old stockies lol. I was gonna try and take the borlas but they wouldn't let me. I still think I came out ahead. MSRP was 34k and they brought it down 11k total. Only has 59 miles on it. :P
Oh yeah and the Short Throw Shifter... Can't forget that lol...

what he said. I love my 40AE.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it is hard to picture external mods on it because it's a color you rarely find. I can't just hop on here and see what color rims look good on it as opposed to cars that are a more common color. But that's not really a car flaw, it's more of an imagination flaw on my part.

Well I like the peace of mind of being under warranty. Cars got enough power for what I'd want to do. Once it's payed off, I will most likely take it FI. I was the 2nd owner on my 04 so I didn't know if it was broken in properly...
