If anything, the 04's would be faster. 238bhp vs 232bhp. Either way if there actually is a difference, its not a big enough difference to even discuss.

The US spec manual tranny HP is exactly the same... just depends on what SAE test you use. At 2007 standards the engine made 232, the same exact engine using 2004 SAE standards rates 238.

But the 2006 and later auto tranny versions make more HP than the 2004 and 2005 auto tranny versions.

 

only red 2005 rx-8s came with the improved power. :P
