2005 Rattles
Any 2005 owners notice the rattles? I was wondering if Mazda paid attention to the complaints of rattles. I know I still have rattles behind the back passenger seat. The others I have hunted down and fixed.
In my opinion, a marked improvement on the RX-8 would be to start using QUALITY quick-fasteners instead of the cheap, plastic ones that break as soon as you attempt to disconnect them. I believe these may be the source of most of the rattles, but I'm not sure.
I have not experienced any issues with flooding, a/c cycling, brakes, transmission or foamy oil, but the rattles are annoying as hell. I'm tempted to fill all panel spaces and voids with liquid foam!
Otherwise, I love the car...

I do agree on the quick-fastener issue though. They are hard to remove (sometimes), and fragile as all hell. I wish Mazda would use something better.

I have an 05 with 10k miles in 6 months.
I have not had rattles per-se.
During the coldest months, I had a big issue with dash/plastic squeaks.
Now that the weather has broken, I can't really complain.

I've had my 2005 since December 2004 and not a rattle can be heard, take it to the dealer...you should not have to deal with rattles. Trust me...I CAN'T STAND RATTLES!!!
Heck...my 1994 Probe GT with 150,000+ miles on it did not have any rattles (that I did not find or fix) so a brand new car should not have them either.

OMG! Rattles rattles rattles, behind the center console, the navigation screen, top of the dash, the steering column, sunroof, driver side door, passenger side door, back of both seats, it's actually driving me crazy!! Haha but it's my fault since I'm having too much fun with my 05' to drop it off at the dealer for these issues. I should though......

Had mine since Oct.'04 and so far it's been free of rattles and squeakes. I agree that the plastic fasteners could be a little more robust. I've actually found a couple of these on my garage floor, found out that they came from the wheel well. So I took it back to the dealer and they replaced the missing and broken ones.

I must be lucky. Had my '04 car for almost a year now, it's a Mar. '04 build, and zero rattles. Just about as tight as the day I brought her home.
As a matter of fact, I've had zero problems. No flooding, no rust on the brake hubs, no brake squeaks, the car has just been perfect. Haven't been to the dealer except for routine oil changes & the M-flash. Guess I'm lucky

my friend Hunghorse had some rattle issues, but he took it to the dealer and they apparently fixed it up. Actually it might not have been hunghorse, maybe its the guy in my lab. I cant remember.

I have the same thing. When it is cold, I have three...one from the back door that drives me up a tree. Now that the weather is warm, they are gone!
