Hi, I have a 2004 Ti. I want to use the 2005 flip key, I have one ordered and on the way.

Please don't flame, I've been searching for 2 days and haven't been able to find an answer and I've tried posting to the old threads about the key with no response.

I currently have a valet key and a primary key, what do I need to do to use the flip key? and what does FOB mean? sorry for bringing this up again, I know there are many threads about the 2005 key. Thanks for any help !!

the 2005 key is just 2 parts and you snap them together.

 

fob doesn't stand for anything. that's another name for the remote. anyway, you can program your new key (you'll have to have it cut somewhere) with the exisiting key and the valet key. i think aseras has the link up above.

 

Thanks, so from what I understand I will need to get a new key cut to put in the 2005 fob ? Will I need to get a blank from a Stealership? or how do most people go about getting this done.

 

if you ordered the fob from the dealership (around $70), it doesn't come with the key. however, you can buy one from mazdaparts.com (a vendor on this site) for about $30. Take it over to home depot or wherever, get it cut, program the keys and the fobs, and voila!
