Well thanks for the love....everyone. And I was gonna use Zoom Zoom, but wasn't sure if that would get me flamed....lol Anyway, I am beginning to feel the same way. I can shift when I want, if I want, or just sit back and enjoy a nice drive on the freeway. Sure I may get burnt in a straight line, but that's not the soul of this car anyway. It's the sound, the connection to the road, the ability to through it around and it takes it with a smile.

Thanks for the kind words. About the leather, I'm not sure what it is. It's not grey, I think that's just the light reflecting off of the gases pockets from venus' atmosphere. They're all black.
As for the turbo, are they safe for the auto? Just curious how the trans would hold up. I always thought that was the reason the power was different on the two versions?

I'll snap his neck.
Welcome to the bastard stepchild club! Check out the AT performance section for all kinds of ideas.
FYI - 09Factor has a turbo on his AT and loves it. I think there are a couple other turbos in the works for ATs.

The power is different because the automatic trans is supposedly not capable of the higher rpms. Our redline is 7500, theirs is 9000. Plus the 05 AT only has 4 ports.
As far as handling power, the 4 speed automatic seems to be the most robust of all the transmissions on the 8. Just ask Phil - he's beat the hell out of his with his pettit supercharger and elevated redline

In some cases, peoples' gut feelings cause them to drive like a maniac and end up killing themselves and others. Some people can trust their gut feelings and some people should not. DO NOT get an automatic. Once you get it straight, then there's closure and direction. And that direction is to then find a suitable manual.

Roger that. I went digging after that post. I didn't realize there was such a difference between MT and AT throughout the entire drivetrain. I'm guessing the 06 AT is a much better performer than the older AT's. I do see where the addtional gears would be nice in my 05 AT, especailly the first and second. They are a little long to be a fast launcher, but once I'm into second she screams. Good thing I'm not a dragger anyway. But I am looking into the turbo. I've seen some threads with GReddy helps the AT's down to high 6's. Not bad. My initial mods will be exhaust, & intake, seems racing beat is the flavor the 8's like the best. I've also been looking into SR. I like the design of both brand's intakes.
