once i went autocrossing... i filled up just before the cone course... like a block away--and then again right after because i was curious as to how much mpg the 8 gets on wot...

i ran the course three times with my old kumho ecstas... short story shorter: i got 8 mpg. lol. 8 mpg on the 8.

just to show how driving style really affects your mileage.

I drive an 80Mi commute to work, nearly all freeway, and I can't seem to come up with any ideas on how to well, stretch a tank any farther. I've tried cruise, AC/No AC, shifting to neutral when decelerating, and even *ack* driving the speed limit. Nothing seems to impact it at all.

Has anyone here any ideas?

Thanks in Advance.

Top Gear just did a story on gas mileage with 4 exotics to see how many laps each car could go around their track as hard as possible with 1 gallon of fuel.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKU3_Cs2JrE

Ferrari 599 =1.7 mpg
Lamborghini Murcielago=4.1mpg
Audi R8=5.0mpg

Makes the RX8 at 8mpg WOT not bad.

They also ran a BMW M3 v8 and a prius around their track together at the hardest the prius could go (M3 followed prius around) and the M3 got better mileage!

Prius=17.2mpg
M3=19.4mpg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8V7E8R6fZI&NR=1

the point of the story: it's all about how you drive.
