....and as an addendum to Elara's post, turn your wheels to the curb. If it does roll, it'll only roll so far until the wheel hits the curb.

Once I parked going to a local Barnes and Noble, the space is inclined towards the driving lane. By the time I got out my car (my old 93 RX-7) it has moved backwards and halfway blocking the driving lane. Good thing nobody hit it but people was smiling at my foo-foo.

I've had mine roll down my driveway once.. with the parking brake set firmly.. when the car was nice and toasty.. i figured as it cooled it let the brake loosen up ever so slightly.

well the parking brake IIRC uses a pad inside of the brake rotor, not the normal disc brakes you use while driving.

13,000 and I parked my car in the driveway, as usual, and it starts to roll. I can hear the engine turning. I'm thinking "crap" will I need a new engine?

It's a bit disconcerting, especially I usually park like this. The e-brake might hold, but I used a brick to be safe.

Shouldn't Mazda provide a parking pin or lock rod like the automatics have to ensure it won't roll?
