07 RX-8 Specs Available

Over at miata.net, the dealers have access to preliminary specs on 2007 Miatas and have posted them. I'm wondering if anyone here who works for Mazda (Zoom44?) can get access to the same information regarding 2007 RX-8s, and if they do would they please post them. Thanks.

edit: all current info updated on July 24th available here https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...=1#post1456738

The 2006 RX-8 just came out. I would guess that the 2007 will be out late in the year.

They should have 07 info soon, as Mazda currently cutting off 06 orders and moving toward 07.

Nuts. Sorry about that. How did you get the spec sheets before they were available to the public then? I'm asking because apparently Mazda's spec deck still shows 2006 information, the 2007s are hidden and you need to do a search.

that would be a secret

yeah they are doing the same thing they did for the 2006 MY which is laying in the 2007 pages in the 2006 info. i was being stupid and looking for a 2007 category to pop up. i should have known better.

i changed the title of this thread and stickied it- this will be whee you can find the info for now.

we're getting a new blue called Stormy Blue Mica and it looks like Winning is dropped. Also a new white - Crystal White Pearl - with Whitewater being dropped. Copper Red is dropped also of course.

6CD changer is becoming standard or Touring and Grand Touring packages
Chapparel Leather Dropped with the Sand available as an option on GT packaged cars.

this is very preliminary data and subject to changes of course- so dont go thinking this is set in stone just yet.

Job one is scheduled for July

Say it ain't so! I love WB! I hope the Blue Mica isn't some boring dark blue like the X-Men car.

just my guess but i think Strato Blue is goner (because of th enew paint method?) from the entire line up and that this Stormy will be close to the old Strato. With the new paint method they have, all the old colors will be gone from the whole lineup at some point.

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people agree with you -- that's likely why Mazda would make such a change. I just don't understand why so many people want these generic colors that you see on every other car. I want a color that pops. Dark blue is too subdued and reminds me of a Passat. Oh well, guess I'll wait and see exactly what happens. That Evo X is starting to look better and better....

I plan on keeping my 04 till I'm out of dental school--then we'll see what the market and my wallet have to say about things.

i like the WB now, but some colors that are cool now and 'pop' are the same that look funny or do i dare say even ricey once they face the test of time. I have nothing against WB. But a black car, grey, white or a dark blue rex will still look pretty classy imo in 10 years.

Its kind of like fashion. 'JAMS' popped in the late 80s more than a pair of khaki pants. but they look silly now.

hmm...

the mazda6 wagon comes in a color called squall blue pearl.

squall - n : sudden violent winds; often accompanied by precipitation
sounds a bit like a storm

so, i wonder if stormy blue is going to look anything like squall blue.

What the heck are demisters for the front side windows? Do the 05-06 have those? Also what is the "performance package" does that just make a base model a sport or something? Seems like the bigger brakes, dsc etc are all sport options anyways, what else does performance package contribute?

No more shinka package and Black/Chaparal leather, but sand leather is still available...

If there are facelift would they have mention it in the spec deck?

also, they did not mention if there are radio equipment change, such as aux-in...

From 2007 Mazda 3 spec,

http://media.ford.com/mazda/article_...ticle_id=23151

"Audio systems have been upgraded with an auxiliary audio input and 12-volt power outlets are now standard for all models, providing the driver or passenger the option of bringing their own portable audio player to enjoy their favorite music in the car. "

Base model is the Sport model. The performance package adds

Sport AT Performance Package : DSC w/Traction control, Xenon headlamps, Fog lamps,
Tochigi Fuji LSD, 18" tires, Larger brakes, Sport tuned Suspension

Sport MT Performance Package : DSC w/Traction control, Xenon headlamps, Fog lamps

but you dont have the Bose or Moonroof or Homelink Mirror of the Touring package.
