canadian - you may as well get a lightweight flywheel put in while you get the clutch replaced . An after market clucth will be cheaper than Mazda one as well .

Ask around for a local reputable mechanic shop, and get a for a quote on the labour to do a clutch on a rear wheel drive car, should be $600/$700 tops.

I have a newish clutch I could Greyhound to you for $125 plus the bus cost......

That leaves about $5800 left for install.

Yes Brantford, home of Wayne himself. Appretiate the offer Charles but wont be necessary. She is currently getting fixed as I type this. Price came out to just under 2k from another place so its getting done. As well the flywheel might be burned and have to be replaced. Once again not a car junky so this is like chinese to me. Hope its fixed soon so I can get a few drives before she is put to sleep for the winter . Thank-you for everyones help and concern!
