After reading how much most of you paid for your cars I have realized what a steal I got mine for. I got it as a repo from a credit union. 2005 Rx-8 27000 miles VR 6 speed manual touring package and a spare for 15 grand. When I got it I knew it needed a new tranny but got it anyway and got lucky and it was replace with minimal trouble from freeway Mazda in Ogden UT. The part that sucked is they had it for about a month after everything was said and done. I have had the car for 3 months now and love it. I am also lucky as I get good gas mileage and run the hell out of her.

23 MPG on the high way and 19.9 - 21.0 driving her like I stole her.

Good deals are out there if you are patient and look for them. Call around to the banks in your area first before going to a stealership and you might get lucky like me. Its kinda funny but I test drove my car a year before at the Ford dealership and they wanted 25000.00 for it, I waited a year and got her for 10 grand less. Is my story the norm................ Far from it but I did get lucky.

In 1989 I bought a 300zx that sat on the lot a year,,,,, because it had a bad rear shock and handled like ****. I bought it and had the shock fixed and saved $6000.

Got my 04 AT with 110k for $10,500 including tax etc. Car had been a 1 lady owner highway driven until she had a light front end wreck and this used car lot owner took it in partial trade for a corvette, fixed the body and sold it to me. The airbags were gone and the hood has a bit more gap than stock, but I can live with both those issues for what Ive got in it. Of course now, with paint, tires, appearance, etc. I have closer to 13,500 in it. I currently plan to do a 6 port/6 speed swap on the car at some point, and have acquired most of the needed parts to that end. For now I am just leaving it alone, as my wife drives it once every 2 or 3 weeks.
