If you think it made an improvement, then leave it on. I doubt it is hurting anything.

I Got One Too

When i first installed mine, i was a bit nervous that the output wouldn't be good enough for the money. But then i bought one of these

http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main...products_id=41

and it proved that i had indeed gained lots of horsepower and torque in my first 3 gears. Best buy ever.

12 dollars, true. Not that big of a deal, but the next time you feel like throwing away money, send it to Maverickwm4a1@yahoo.com Paypal account. Please donate to the Shini needs a good hand wash for his car fund =O

Naah I'm just joking. If it actually works then keep it in there and don't let us change your mind just because we're sinicle ******** that don't believe in anything until we've tried it for ourselves

well i know what it does, it plugs onto the IAT sensor and long story short makes the car think the air coming in is colder than it actually is, so the air/fuel mixture can adjust accordingly.

ok, some of you guys are saying you MIGHT try it. Go on ebay, type in rx8, there are different kinds, the one I tried was the "peak performance" the title was +35HP Sport chip. It was $12 after shipping and taxes with money back guarantee. Instead of criticizing me, order it and try it. I'm sincerely saying it made a dif in my car. After on of you guyz have actually tried it, then post a comment and I'll take it seriously, otherwise dont waste your time trying to be funny.

And that adjustment is adding more fuel to a car that already runs rich. The thing to ask is if these work why doesn't Mazda install them?

Did you do any objective tests? Like timing acceleration before and after installing the chip?

Subjectively, it's really easy to see what you're expecting to see (or want to see). The classic example is Blondlot and the N-rays:

http://skepdic.com/blondlot.html

Hopefully getting ribbed in a Web forum isn't as bad a deal as Blondlot's fate. FWIW, he was completely sincere about his "discovery."

The only way to determine if you're really getting more power is with a dyno or a stopwatch.

Ken

daisy chain those fo-muggers.

Cool Din't......

OK, you have been told that it's not a "chip", it's just a little resistor,
and that fooling the air temp signal will make the car run richer,
and you've been told that the car already runs "pig rich"
.....where are you still getting the idea that it will make a positive difference?

IF it had ANY effect, can you not see it would be to make the car slower
- am I getting thru?
- is anybody home?

If you installed it, you should also be able to tell us which of those five wires you cut into......

actually, the "module" (my bad) makes the 8 run just a bit leaner because it runs to rich from the factory, like i said, ill take a stopwatch to it and let you guys kno if it really made a difference. Everyone can just chill with the smartass comments until I actually give it some time trials.

Im not looking for criticism from people who have never used the chip, nor am I looking for advise, i just want comments from other RX8 owners who have tried the module....
I'm thinking no one on this board is foolish enough to beleive $12 will buy a performance chip.

Is this the one where it readjusts your throttle so that a slight depression on the gas pedal after the chip is equal to flooring it without?

Its a real website, fake products, and quite hillarious. I used it to convince a kid at work to ask his dad to pay for the "muffler bearings" he forgot to install on his scion. I also asked when was the last time he refilled his blinker fluid...

"i dunno...why?"

for all you dumbass's that keep saying stupid ****, ill repeat myself for the third time since youre obviously uncapable of understanding something when someone says it over and over again; I'm going to take a stop watch to it and test 0-30/ 0-60/ 0-100 first with the module off, then with it on. So you can all stop calling me stupid and insulting me when I've already said three times that I was going to test it and keep you guys posted. The only reason I started this thread was because I knew none of you people would believe me, so im running these tests on Thursday to prove that it does indeed help. So everyone just chill out with the insults until the numbers are in, until then you're just making yourselfs look like douchebags!!!!!!! Hold your comments until thursday.

stop watch is not going to do anything... a gtimer or gtech and a pro driver would prove your but dyno is not right...

and i would ease off the name calling... btw,, check for pos, you might get sent to time out.
