$12 Ebay sport chips??

Hey guys, im riding in an 04 6spd, i recently bought on of those cheap $12 chips that are all over ebay. It actually made a HUGE difference in 1st and 2nd gear torque, I'd def recommend this cheap mod to anyone!!!! I'm just curious if anyone else has had such luck with these cheap modules??? Or am I just super lucky

i also got that $12 ebay sport chip the op is talking about for my '05 rx8. i got mine for $8.99 + $2.99 s&h so i saved a total of 2 cents. it works well when you purchase the ventabulator as an option that comes along with it. the ventabulator hooks up to my ecu as it adjusts the valve timing and lift in my 13b.

You gotta be careful with the valve lift on the 13b because it is an interference engine and you can bend a valve if you over rev it (or break the timing belt).

i'll be fine. i upgraded my valves to titanium ones last week. and plus, the ventabulator and the chip working as a complete unit will take of everything inside the cylinder head. .

btw mm, i read your post on the guy asking what kind of stroker he can get for his "dad's" rx8. hillarious.

I heard this chip is most effective if you port and polish your heads and upgrade the valves and pushrods.

I'd like to tell you that the superhomogaleter button becomes unfunctional due to the unsurpressed amount of liquified metal in the engine because of this chip. Try pressing this supehomogaleter button, it is right next to the button that says "YOU ARE A MORON!," which is right next to the end of your warranty, perhaps.
I hope you learned something!

ok, im loving the sense of humor, and being called an idiot first thing in the morning, but I'm not joking. I bought the car with 20K miles, had it for 1 1/2 years, and its at 47K miles now, trust me, id notice if there was a difference. There is a difference in lower end torque, ok, maybe saying HUGE was an exageration, but there is a difference.

You have an 04, probably what happend is that it's acutally starting to run at normal capacity now.

well, i put the chip on 2 days ago, and noticed an immediate difference. I drove 15 miles from work, installed to chip, took my car out for the night, and noticed the difference, then all day the next day I was getting on it and noticed a difference. Im not looking for criticism from people who have never used the chip, nor am I looking for advise, i just want comments from other RX8 owners who have tried the module....

Is this one of those things that advances your throttle signal?

Cause that is what it does...so pressing the pedal down does the same thing.

I replaced every chip in my CPU with these things, I run 10's flat now, get 30 MPG, and it randomly fixed my engine mounts, drained the water from my tail lights, AND made the Mazda Dealer actually listen to me.

It's a mircale!

On a sidenote, if you really say it gave you more torque, then maybe I'll buy one, but most of the time they don't work. This is just another example of a palcebo, if it has a name that you believe and trust slapped on it, then you'll think and believe whatever it says it will do. Just because they toss out 100% gaurentee'd and qoute statistics and say they have thousands sold, doesn't mean they work. More than likely there's just slightly different variables in as far as in engine temp, incline, etc etc that make you think you're going faster...

But hey if it REALLY works, and you swear by it, maybe I'll buy one. Mine being an AT, I could use all the extra torque I can get >_<
