Yeah that won't work unless you want to change slave cylinders setup and hydraulic lines. I suggest using the 8's 5speed bellhousing-perfect setup and there's no changing anything. You might want to trade or sell the clutch that you have for the fd and get one for a rx8 or possibly a FC. I'd suggest also getting the shifter rod from the 8's speed as well, the plate on the rod, and also the sensors from it as they're different than the 6speed. They're the same size as the FD's sensors but the configuration for the 8's electronics are different.

 

Right exactly. Well I already have FD Slave, FD Starter etc. Its not really a big deal if that stuff is different. However I'm getting a whole trans shipped it looks like so I can look into the possibility of keeping the 8 Bell housing once it gets here.

285 Pound shipping to canada from the UK for the trans and the trans is worth 150 bucks... Oh well at least it'll bolt up nice

 

Well that sucks, I could have found a cheap/and or busted one here and just sent you the parts you needed.

 

Yeah the biggest is expense is the 400 shipping... I found a few trans for like 75 bucks, but I just got a working one for 150.
