sorry for not reading all the previous pages so if its already stated somehwere... my bad. but are you running the factory 6 speed trans? also hows that rx8performace mounting kit? just as easy as bolt in and go? or was there some cutting involved near the back of the motor?

The 6speed is pretty good for spooling the turbo quickly, but it won't last and 1,2, and a little of 3rd gear is usless...

Ha ha, at first I remember just going through the gears-stepping on it but not beating on the transmission/shifting easily- when I came at a standpoint to park it, it wouldn't go into reverse and 1st gear for some reason..... You should get ready for a FD transmission(if you don't want to go all out).

Just had a look at the website he was trying to link to, how is that spam? Seems pretty appropriate to me. Nice build look forward to your results.

More Spam? Have you even looked at the link? I'm not trying to push it at people or advertise the product. Looks like a good complete kit to fit an rew into an rx8. Would be good to hear the opinion/s of those who have done or are doing an rew swap.

How is it advertising!? WTF is wrong with you retards? I've never suggested anybody buy one. Apologies Schartz for all this crap in his thread. F it I give up, didn't realise I had to be part of the cool club to make a post without it being called spam, doesn't matter that I'm in no way affiliated with that product nor am I even in the same country that it's advertised for sale in. Just thought some of it was applicable to this build and others wanting to do an REW swap. I've raced rotaries successfully for approx 10 years without RX8 club, guess I'll carry on happily without it, STICK YOUR FORUM UP YOUR @R5E. Unsubbed.

Ummm, you attached the ECU bracket to a radiator tank????

Also, it would generally be preferred to straighten exhaust flow into the turbo flange rather than bring it in at an angle.

speaking of ECU placement, i know the PCM controls the DSC, traction control (which is linked into god knows what) and the power steering rack, ive heard that you have to go to a FD steering rack to make this swap possible. But what about taking the engine side of the stock PCM's duties out of the mix and creating a FD (for ignition, fuel, air) and RX8 (for everythig else) kind of hybrid ECU??? just thinking out loud on that one, but what did you end up going with for your ECU set up?

Well you could placed the turbo differently and made a new ecu box like I did here:

Looks can be deceiving, gt42 is not twice as big as a bw 363 series. It's certainly bigger sure, but you could have fitted it easily-there's plenty of space.
