There's a Mazda dealership in Menlo Park , CA that quoted me 1k below invoice on their 05 RX8's. Here's his email info:

Subject: Menlo Mazda Internet & Fleet Department
From: pmerel@menlomazda.mazdaleads.com

The guy's name is Pedro - he's very polite and pretty quick to respond.

1GT (MT Grand Touring): $3,656.00
NV1Navigation System): 1,721.00

Those numbers looks like they are the invoice price.

S-plan = dealer invoice. E-plan is the **** - unfortunately you have to work for MNAO. That takes another 3K off the GT price.

I was shopping back in January 05 and wanted to get the exact car that I wanted (special order) without wasting time & energy haggling. So, the S-Plan was the right choice for me.

Everyone should decide for themselves what time/ cost investment makes sense for their purchase. Time is money...

As far as the Ford Partnership Program (2005 Mazda S-Plan Price List) and the Dealer's Factory Invoice go, Ford's documentation states that S-Plan = E-Plan plus 5.03% minus Destination Charge & other BS fees on the invoice. A reputable dealership will also not tack on BS documentation fees. (The place I went to didn't.)

As the 2006 model year approaches, most dealers are willing to cut spectacular deals on existing 2005 inventory. But, if you're a picky buyer (like me), then it's worth it to have the peace of mind knowing that your'e getting a fair price and the exact car that you want. Non-picky buyers will get a great deal though right now.
