What do you guys think of this deal?

I went to Oakland Mazda today and got this offer:

Mazda RX-8 6-speed with no other options
$26,980 OTD - 500 Grad rebate = $26,480 OTD

What do you guys think? I was going to get it today but the APR rate they gave me was very bad (7.76 APR), so I am going to talk with the credit union tmr to see what kind of rate I could get.

Thanks

Try harder. In Virginia I got a 6MT with no options for $26,360 - 500 Grad Rebate = $25,860 OTD.
APR 5.75%

Base 6MT should cost you $24,659 + $500 destination. If you can get the grad rebate, you are looking at $24,659 as the total price of the car. Just add tax, tag, title.

Remember the dealer still makes money when selling at invoice. Many on this board (including myself) have been buying at invoice without any trouble at all.

You can pay more, but if you feel like giving money away, I recommend giving me some

I went to the credit union today and got approved on the loan. 4.25 APR, much lower than what the dealership gave me. Damn stealership tried to screw me >_<!!!

Getting finance outside of the dealership is the best thing you can do! You then can focus on car cost rather than fudging with numbers.

Also, since you have financing in hand, tell the dealership about it, and give them a chance to see if they can get a lower rate for you. Dealerships have access to many creditors and since they get a cut, they will try hard on your behalf.

Try the CA Gov't website. The MO state site has a calculator for sales tax and title fees.
