Does This sound like a good deal
04 Grand touring package with red/black interior, 6spd, sun roof, here's the down side.. it is the Demo vehicle and has 5-6k miles and they want $28k
I'd be new to the rotery and don't know much about them. I currently have an 04 f150 and love it but the gas pump is setting me back 2 much $... so thinking of getting something else.. I don't have too I can keep driving the f150 but looking at my options... what are the main problems you guys forsee with this one...

When driven like you want to drive a 6 speed sports car, the RX8 doesnt get much better mileage than tooling around in a pickup. Be aware that RX8's can be had everyday near invoice so consider that when buying a demo.

Demos get wupped on and there are no guarantees that the car was broken in properly. Skip that deal and either get the GT package for around 30K or get a touring package (Doesn't have navigation, leather and a couple other inconsequentials) for around 28K. You can probably beat those numbers by a bit if you shop it.
Since the 8 is a NA rotary, long term engine life should not be an issue. Many NA rotaries are working on 200K. You have to realize that flooding is an issue, it may be an overblown issue, but it is there nonetheless. It is not a torque monster, you have to rev it to get it going. But I think that is part of the fun of driving this car. Last, fuel consumption is a bear (esp at 2.30 a gallon), but it should be better than your F150, marginally at first, but after 5 to 6,000 miles it should improve. Especially if you get the PCM updates.

ctupton, actually just go to the "New to the Rx8" thread and the MSRP versus invoice cost is in there. It looks to me like the dealership is basically charging you invoice, despite the 5K miles they put on the vehicle. That is BS. The car should be more like 25K at the most. Good luck. With the numbers staring me in the face 29K should get you a brand new MT with the GT package.

Agreed with above. Dealers are going at or near invoice for new cars. No reason you should pay invoice for a used car.
BTW, Invoice for a GT is $28,100.

2nd Edit: the invoice in that thread is slightly different from what Edmunds lists. I'm currently trying to buy the car, and the dealers are quoting me the Edmunds price as invoice.
