for those that have their 8s: dealer prep letter?
did any of u send your dealership a dealer prep. letter prior to taking delivery? i know u all read the thread(s) related to that topic.
did your dealerships adhere to your requests?
is there anything the dealership did (or didn't) do to your car that u wish they hadn't (had)?
and oh yeah, CONGRATS! (where's mine dammit?)

I faxed the letter to my dealer yesterday. He said he would do everything except #1: be there for the initial inspection. He said that he doesn't know exactly when the truck will arrive and that they unload the cars and do the intitial inspection in about 30 minutes so I would not be able to make it in time.
I also said that my car has not been released form port yet and therefore won't be on the next truck coming tomorrow.

I took delivery on the 15th and my dealer complied with my requests completely. He called two hours before the truck was due so I could be there when it arrived but I was unable to get there untill the next morning. I got to the dealership about 0730 and found the car in a service bay, locked and with all of the wrapping still on, just as I requested. The tech then completed the inspection with me looking over his shoulder and asking questions. WE then took a test drive together and he complied with my rather conservitive 5000 RPM limit, no questions. I'm pretty sure I'm classified as a difficult customer so that might have helped with the cooperation issue. This was their first RX-8 delivery.

Everyhting was complied with -- to the letter. I think it helped that I was there the whole time during PDI & clean-up.
After all, that will be the only way you will know for sure.
