So I'm going to buy one in a couple months! But I have a couple questions.

Brilliant Black, 05-06, used with under 30k hopefully, manual. (Grand Touring if possible) w00t! Can't wait!

Questions:

1)What's the stock manual car's 0-60? I keep reading different things like anything ranging from under 6 seconds to over 7 seconds. So what is it really?

2)Can I turbo charge the rotary engine? Will it kill it's lifespan? Are there any other mods I can apply to the car for more torque/horsepower. (I hear it doesn't have the best torque)

3)How is the overall power of the car? I mean I have a 130hp corolla right now lol so I'm sure I'll be impressed with the difference. But I keep hearing about the bad torque, yet that it's a very light car. Is it responsive in the lower gears?

4)What RPM's should I typically shift at? I know the rotary engine revs alot higher so will it be higher than the standard rule of 3000RPM?

Thanks!

My stock 04 GT 6spd get 0-60 in about 6-6.5 on flat.
As far as going turbo, there is an entire sub-forum section devoted to Forced Induction.
I wouldn't worry about going to it from a corolla... you'll definitely notice the difference. And even though it's not the most powerful car the handling will win you over. You can eat most car's for breakfast in corners.

1) best is 5.9 but that is not really common i think. ^what he said is right.

2) yes you can turbo or supercharge it. there are many options and opinions on those, i suggest you search and read a lot on if you are interested. be aware you will lose your warranty when you do that. nothing else will give you significant gains in power like forced induction (FI) but it isnt cheap either.

3) the car has fine power as long as it is a manual. it doesnt have power down low, just the nature of the beast its a small engine. however it makes good power once you get up in the revs.

4) for gas, the secondary injectors come in at 3750 rpms iirc.

ask any more questions if you need and please use the search function at the top before creating a new thread.

My 0-60 is 5.9 almost 6 seconds flatt and im not the nest driver.. thena gian my car isnt stock..

I have Cold air intake, 9LB flywheel stage 1 clutch with heavy duty pressure plate, Cobb AM with MM maps, Mazsports ignition solution, power pulleys and cat back exhaust, and im waiting on my midpipe..

Id say i am probably pushin close to 200 at the wheels or just a tad bit over 200

Spent over 3K mods and it didnt do much.. but it will shine when i go turbo next spring (hopefully)

Rotat the tires frequently like every oil change or the back tires will get chewed up rather quick..
Drive it like its ment to be driven.. high RPMS its a dog in the lower RPMS
around 5.5K rpm and up is good.

Gas mileage is poor dont worry about the TQ it will put a smile in your face.. most people who say its crap and its slow have never driven one.. a stock car is quick not fast..

Ohh and BTW do your car a favor and use nothing less than 5w-30 i use royal purple full synthetic.. on the owners manuel it says synthetic not reccomended.. ive used it for 20K plus miles.. but if that matters to you use 5w-30 regular oil..

dont use 5w-20

when i want to take off fast from a roll i rev to 5-6K RPM and then all the way to about 9K rpm youll hear a BEEEP that when i usually shift..

anything below 5K RPM the car is SOOOOOO DEAD! hahaha but thats why you have to rev it..
i beleive int he lower rpms your corolla will pull the 8 hahaha but once it gets to the HIGH RPMS your talkin about NICE POWER.

Overall i love the feel of the car.

well good luck with it mang
