How did I do on this "deal"

2005 Shinka 22,100 miles. Overall very good to excellent condition. Needs tires.

Sale price was $17400. Out the door was $18,437.

I'm starting to think that this was a "fair" deal rather than a "good" one...

Well, a local dealer has an '05 GT with 18k miles on it, appearnce package, spolier and accents and they won't budge much off of $19k. They're a "no haggle" outfit. The bad news for me is that they've moved 4 '04 models for $16-17k in the last few months and so I don't think I'll get them down to my target. No-one else around here seems to be selling their Rx-8s though.

Do a nationwide autotrader search for RX-8s using keyword "Shinka". There are a few dealers out there that want well over $20k for an '05.

You didn't do too bad IMHO.

Plenty of people like the Kumho Ecsta (sp?) tire, which is much cheaper than OEM Bridgestone or Dunlops. You should be able to re-shoe it for uder $500.

Pretty sure I saw your one pop up on Ebay - it was in FL, right? If it had been closer I would have been very keen to take a look myself.

cheers!

Reasonable deal. I paid similar money for a Touring non-shinka with 7k miles almost a year ago, AT MANNHEIM(biggest dealer only auction on the east coast).
