Question Pleasant Mazda Dealer Experiences

To the guys (and girls) who have already purchased the RX-8, how many of you had a trouble-free (or near trouble-free) experience of buying the car?

Mine was great! Loan arranged through the Credit Union at work, car waiting when I arrived, 5 minutes in Finance office, 2 minutes signing paperwork, a couple of hours meeting the "important" people, lunch with "budaman", home to Houston with the car.

Could not have been any smoother or better. Thanks again, budaman!

Which dealership in Maryland did you go to? I'm looking for a good dealership to buy my car from when I'm ready to purchase one. Also, what salesman did you go through and how did you like him? Thanks in advance.

Completely trouble-free for me! My sales person was great, informative and a pleasure to work with. She continues to stay in contact with me even after the purchase.

Bottom line -- I'm completely happy with the car and the experience. BTW, I'm keeping the car.

Great experience

As always, the folks at Mazda South were fantastic. From the moment we convinced them to start a pre-order list last year (with my name at the top ) to delivery and beyond, they've been nothing but friendly and helpful.

Realizing that they could glean more information about the forthcoming car online than they could from MNAO itself, they even started taking an active interest here, and were always glad to hear any new snippets that I was able to provide, including a copy of the Press Kit which was never provided to them.

While I don't totally blame other dealers for being clueless, since it seems that the information they're provided by MNAO is minimal as best, I applaud budaman and his team for going the extra mile to help out not only their own customers but the wider RX-8 community here.

My dealer in Richmond was very easy to work with. The salesman was great. They had originally marked up the car $2500 and I figured I'd never buy it there, but they quickly removed the markup. They also gave me $800 more for my trade than any other dealer offered.

The only thing was that they really tried to put the hard sell on for the extended warranty, but I wouldn't budge. It was not that big a deal, just a waste of my time. I'm especially glad I didn't cave in now, since I'll be getting free maintenance courtesy of Mazda.

My dealer was very good, we talked almost weekly during the preorder wait and he met all my demands for delivery (like no front plate, wax, etc.) The day it arrived the car was waiting for me ready for a test drive. Paperwork took literally 5 min. and I was driving home. Having price and financing pre arranged made a big difference from some car buying experiences I've had in the past.

BUT, the dealer did order/install the spare tire without my permission saying they did that for all their preorders. The finance guy tried to tell me it was a factory installed option that can't come out of the deal... hahaha, right. I really did want the spare but not at $400 so we split the cost on it, fair enough for me.

My dealer (also in Richmond) was so nice it was almost scary. I kept expecting them to try and pull something, but nope, not a thing.

Smile Roger Beasley in Austin - Worth a drive!

I live in North Texas, but was having a lot of trouble finding a dealer who had an 8 in stock that met my needs.

I found my car at Roger Beasley in Austin. I had two guys helping me out there...Rush and Justin.

They quoted a very good price on my trade-in site unseen (the car I delivered was exactly as I had described it to them).

They had the car I wanted in stock, so they ran financing, cut me a deal, and I drove down to pick it up the next day.

They treated me like a king!!!

I highly recommend the drive to Austin from anywhere in the southwest USA. They will keep their promises. You'll save $$$ AND the drive back home is a wonderful bonding experience...

Car salesmen that treat it as a profession...what a concept!

Any dealer experience is "great" so long as you both agree on the price, and so long as you have absolutely no request even the slightest bit out of the ordinary.

(I'm just bitter)
