Newark port vs Isabel

What happens to all the cars in port if Isabel hits hard? Are they in a huge warehouse or are they just sitting on a lot exposed to all the elements? Will they be moved to another location?

Hey!

Faulkner just called - they have my car! B/c of the storm and work, I won't be able to get there until Sat.

Check with your dealer!

Timing

Mazda told me mine left Japan Sept. 8th...due 4th week of October? Think I can get it sooner? How long is the darn trip from Japan and then what port does it go to? I am in Illinois. I'd love the car mid October....wishful thinking??

Wheee!

Called Mazda today, found out the car left the port on Wednesday 24th... called my dealership and talked to the guy I've been dealing with and it's gonna be on the truck today!

We have a digital camera, but don't know where the battery or the software to run it is, so probably no pics... dang it...

They may not be able to get it prepped before tomorrow, but that's okay, that'll let me get the Peoplefirst aka capitalone check by air tomorrow (hopefully).

For reference, my car was built Aug 4th, on the water Aug 6th, port of Baltimore September 7th, delivered September 26th!

I dunno if Illinois will go east coast or west coast, I'm in the Washington DC area.

Talking Cool...your car is here!

How exciting is that? Hey, how was the financing thing with People First(Capital One)? I was thinking of trying them or E loan. Take some pics soon...get that camera battery charged up! Hmmm....you got yours in less than 2 months from ship date.(51 days) Well, who knows what will happen with mine......so many variables. I will just figure around Halloween night! Could be interesting....I can scare some kids, huh!? Or go to my dealer dressed in costume.....hmmmm...what should I dress up as??

OmegaBob - I hope you're reading this stuff today...

... I was told by Mazdausa, twice, that given that I pre-ordered and had the order in in April, that I would be in the $500 + maintenance offer.

My dealership really doesn't have anything for me to sign, no wavier, no nothing... they just told me to call the RX8 line.

Did you actually sign anything relating to the offer when you got the car, or did that all get worked out directly with the 1-800 number?

... I hesitate to go ahead and buy the car today, when I could wait until Monday and call them and (probably sit on hold for several hours)... but then I would *know* for sure that I was due for the offer.
