Exclamation !!!holly Molly Deal!!! 05 Rx-8

I just got back from Darcars Mazda Dealership in Silver Spring, MD.
Guys.. I think this is insane. It was for my friend, but here it goes.

2005 RX-8 Dark Grey / Grand Touring / AT
MSRP = $31450.

WE talked talked talked... blah blah blah..

lolz...

it came out to be $7450 off from that price.

I got down to $24000 + tax + tag = $25400 out the lot.

I think this is a very good deal so far on thie board..

if you need the sales person info, let me know.
but... damn.. this car is NICE. I have 2006 IS350, and I still sweat on this.

I just love how rotary engine sounds....

anyhow, my friend will be on this board soon, but man I just wanted to share this enthsiastic deal that we made with MAZDA .

PS: OMG, I test drove the new 06 Mazdaspeed6... I am in love with it too. I had 04 EVO8, and I thought this to be just the same as that car (4cyl turbo, awd +)..
but def. different. Navi was so nice, interior, handling.. when turbo spools, its done.. so nice.

anyways, take care, RX-8 drivers! drvie safe out there.

Not a bad deal at all. I was able to get mine for a little bit less...same specs (except it's a 6-speed), even the same color. I just can't get tired of driving my 8!

Darcars has some really great pricing! I got my '05 there last year in June, and while it wasn't quite as cheap as your friend's, it was an extremely competative price considering it wasn't even mid-year yet.

Highly recommended dealership!

Why's your friend getting an AT? I hope he realizes he's giving up 40hp, about 1.5 seconds in 0-60, and 1500 rpm.

I was just at DarCars last month. Any tips for how to "talk them down" or do you just basically walk in and say, I'm only willing to pay X amount? What salesman did you talk to?

Hope your friend's family realizes that the warranty for a Mazda purchased in the US is only good in the US. If they are going to bring it back to the US, no problem but while they are away they will have to pay for any issues that would otherwise be covered.

The 2005 automatics are just too sluggish, 41 less horesepower at 197hp and a poorly coupled 4-speed automatic.

The 2006 automatic has 212hp and a new 6-speed automatic gearbox which is leaps better.

Do yourself a favor, get the 6-speed manual, or don't get an RX-8.

The 1-800 number for Darcars Mazda does not work, does any one have their number?

Thanks

Talk to Emmanuel Madueschesl, tell him Tony sent you there.
number is 301-622-0020.

Also, talking them down, let them bring all the price down to the ground, and you just show a price dat is around 2~3g less than what they gave you, and he goes to talk to his manag. and its game over.

Dont expect service after the sale with these guys. once you are off the lot, its bye-bye. It took them 6 weeks, with 4 trips to them to get an appearace package on. I had to call them and they would say, "Sure, the package is in. Bring your car in for the weekend." (no loaner). When I picked the car up, they scratched the rear bumper and only put the front painted lip on, No sides, no rear. The next time I came in, they had it for a week and just painted it. They told me that the car was done. I came and picked it up AFTER A WEEK and nothing was done but the paint. This went on for two more trips. Needless to say, I dont go back for service.

They did give me a good deal though. Around $30k for a stacked 6-sp (gt, nav, app package, cd changer...basically every availible opt.)

Thanks for the DarCars info. Sounds like a decent place to get a car from, and then go somewhere else for service. The game is mine!

This is why I put the appearance package on myself. I didn't want to have to deal with Mazda (or any other shop, for that matter) scewing something up on my new car. Sorry to hear about the after-sale experience. There's no excuse for them delaying this, AND damaging your car. They have been pretty receptive to me about getting a paint defect fixed on my car, but I have to find time to drive the hour down there and wait for them to do it... which is an incovenience to me. But as long as they make good on it, I'll be happy.
