Help ibfubar2000 & budaman - My Dealer lost the Mazda Line Yesterday!!!
My dealer (Speedway Mazda/Subaru/VW) lost the Mazda line yesterday!!! They've had it for 30 years! Mazda is giving the line to another dealership that has not completed building their new building. Currently they are pulling all Mazdas off the Speedway lot and will be STORED until the new dealership is ready to receive these cars. What will happen to my RX-8!!! Its in the 1st allotment, end of vin is 0947. Will it be stored with the others? My name is on the car so I should be okay, hopefully. But I think my negotiated price (MSRP) could be in jeopardy since it was a signed agreement with the old dealership. My dealer is working on getting an answer from the Mazda Rep, but I think they've lost motivation since they wont make any $$$$ on my car.
Any thoughts or advice? What can I do to avoid having my car sit in storage somewhere?

I tried to get hold of someone at corporate to get a true answer to your question but haven't been able to get through. I would think a lot will depend on exactly what the status of the car is. If it had been released to the dealer, then you could be screwed until the new owner takes over. If it is still in port inventory they might be able to asign the unit to another dealer if there is one close. I'll keep trying to get an answer. Good Luck

Thanks budaman! I appreciate your efforts! I'd damn near move to TX just so I could buy my future cars from you!!!!!!!!!
By the way the Speedway Mazda dealer (aka Duke Gold's Mazda)and is located in Speedway, Indiana. The new dealer is Hubler Mazda in Plainfield and/or Greenwood.
Everybody say a little prayer for me tonight. *eyes swell with tears* *snif*

If Speedway Mazda is not officially deactivated yet, they can do a dealer trade to another dealer to get you your car if it is on the lot. If the car is still at the port, you should be able to have it re-allocated. If it is in-transit, then it gets tough.
You will need to contact Speedway's DCSM (District Customer Support Manager) first and I'd definitely call Mazda Customer Assistance and explain your situation. (800) 222-5500
You had a pre-order, and your car should not be stored nor should your delivery be delayed because of a bad-timing franchise shutdown, imho. Provide docs as requested stating your purchase price. The DCSM should hand-carry a pre-order transaction over to Hubler, imo. Good Luck!

Thanks Toadman, I'll follow your advice!
Budaman, can you run my vin (see post above) to see if my car has left port Woodhaven, MI?
After a few phone calls I managed to find out that Hubler Nissan in Greenwood is getting all of Speedway Mazda's inventory tomorrow. They will be receiving all future Speedway Mazda deliveries at Hubler Nissan until the new Hubler Mazda opens Aug 1st. So hopefully my car will not be delayed and will be delivered soon to Hubler Nissan. When I spoke to the sales manager at Hubler Nissan, it was comforting to know that he was already aware that they will be receiving four (yes, only four) RX-8 pre-orders that were to be sent to Speedway Mazda, one of which being mine.
