Okay guys I have a problem and hopefully you have a solution. I got a call from my dealership that my RX-8 was there yesterday. I gave them preliminary information to allow them to process my leasing. I got a call an hour ago from the Sales Manager, not my salesman that said the banks would not allow her to give me financing for the car. She said I either had to make a huge downpayment, get a cosigner, or pick a cheaper car. I opted for none of the above. Now I have to look through other venues to get my leasing in order I guess?!? I've been in contact with someone in particular in this forum (not naming names) that supposed to be very good in this arena but he hasn't gotten back with me over the past 4 days. It's crunch time, I was expecting to pick up the 8 at 4 p.m. but now I need some help.

Just my opinion, but...

I think your missing the point here, it looks like maybe you can't afford the car. Don't get in over your head. Save up for a while, then buy the car later (maybe even less than MSRP).

Again, just my $.02

im kinda in the same boat. I recently was hired for an engineering internship and after I graduate in December I will have a full time salaried position with the company, and I will definately be able to afford the car. The dealership however, said I am going to have a hard time financing because of limited credit. Hopefully by the time December rolls around I will be able to find something at a decent rate. Credit sucks when your first starting out.

Just wanted to get that off of my chest... it bugs me.

If you are a first time buyer, the dealer will give you a hard time unless you have a really good credit history regardless of how much you made currently. You should try the online services such as eloan.com and get a pre-approval loan which will give you an idea on the spending power you will have.
