Help with buying privately/dealer

So this is my introduction post lol Don't own an rx8 yet but looking to in the near, near future.
I've found one being sold privately which makes me a little leery but it's got a good price without super high mileage. And it's the colour I want, well, it's close anyway. And one from a dealer that's more expensive but has less mileage and is exactly how I want it to look.

So here's the skinny(just the things I'm worrying about)
The privately sold one:
2004
$11000
151000kms (this good?)
-Rtx 8000k h.i.d conversion kit
-AEM cold air intake
-Tein lowering proformance springs
I'm guessing those are mods, if so do any of them constitute a problem for that new engine recall that came out a couple of years ago if it hasn't been done and I find out later it needs it?
ooooo, and all the windows are already tinted

These are the questions I've got so far to email the seller:
Have you kept the receipts and/or any other records from dealerships/service centers you've brought it to for repair/maintenance?
Do you have the same from the previous owner and how many previous owners have there been?
Has the vehicle been tested for the "crank, no start" engine recall notice that came out in 2006?
Would you have any problems with the vehicle being taken to a service center for inspection?
What is the VIN number of the car?
How much of the warranty is left on the car/engine?

Any others I should be adding?
Big pluses over buying from dealer that I can see:
E-test and safety have already been done and car doesn't have any liens.
Don't have to pay GST, just 8% pst which means I could prolly pay it off in 5 years as opposed to 7.
But the car is already 6 years old, how good a possibility is it that this car will drive well for a total of 11 years?

The dealer:
2005
$12,995
85,000
Don't really have much to add here, it's from a dealer so basic dealer stuff applies.

Thanks for the help
Happy to be a member, 'specially when I actually own an rx lol

The first one is about out of warranty. Not worth 11k.

13k for an 05 with 50,000 miles isnt too bad.

I think you should keep looking. I found my 05 with 25k miles for $13,500 a couple months ago.

regardless of whether it's from a private seller or dealer, it's a good idea to have it inspected by a third party. i bought mine private party and had no issues with it but given the difference in mileage (kilometerage? ), year, and price, i'd try to negotiate with the dealer to lower the price and go with that. i say this owning an '04 and usually prefer private party.

Part of my problem with choosing a car is that I've decided to get a little more choosey, this is now my 3rd(28 years old) and my last two I've bought for no other reason then because I've needed a car, any car. Just so long as it was a car.
I'm kind of tired of driving a car just because I needed one. I want to drive a car I actually want to drive.
Which makes me very picky over the colour, both ext and int of the car. Yes, I want the rx8 because it looks sexy as hell, not that I wouldn't put the TLC into it that I should but I'm not much of a car guy outside of what the owners manual tells me to do.
And there are very few rx8's with both a black ext and all black int.
So behold! The as-close-as-it's-going-to-come-perfect colour combo I can find with a good price and low mileage: http://tinyurl.com/y8lsfrf

Is this a good deal? Should I keep looking?

Tho, this looks like a good one too: http://tinyurl.com/yhwzxuh

Bah, wish making up my mind was easier
Thanks
