Question Help any ideas?

Has anybody ever bought from a seller but the car was the banks? The guy owes 3 grand supposivly on it still, and I was wondering if theres any kind of trick so that I can buy this car but I want it to be safe so he cant rip me off. lol Like can I give him the 3 grand from our negotiating and have them put the title into my name? Or would it be in his name and theyll send it to him then so on so on?

Sorry if its confusing..

Thanks.

He has to pay off the vehicle and then the title will be sent to him within a couple weeks. He would then sign the title over to you at which time you would take it to the DMV and have the title placed in your name. Have a bill of sale drafted up and both of you sign it in front of a notary. That would become a legal document and he would have to give you the title once he receives it. I would ask for a print out of the payoff prior to negotiating with him just to make sure hes not scamming you.

Your parents don't wish for you to take on any unnecessary stress because of the result of any errors in this type of complicated transaction.

I don't blame them. It's always better to be safer than sorry afterwards.

With some additional patience and searching, you may have much better luck with perhaps another RX-8.

The best way to deal with this issue is to talk directly to his financing company.
If there's a local branch office, go into it with him, and discuss the options directly.

If there is no local branch office, then you need to call their customer service line, and talk to them about what the procedure is to sell the vehicle to you, and have you receive the title directly from them. They can do that.

BC.

I see. Well, I wish you the best of luck with whichever decision that works out appropriately for you.
