no prices but salesman said a 2% increase over the 04. They wanted 1000 deposit but told them I only wanted to deposit 500. They conceded. BTW, NEVER give them cash or a check for the deposit. You would have a hard time getting it back in case....

Salesmen also said my car was in the "build cycle". Ordered mine on 8/7 and he said it should be here late Sept. We'll see..

So you didn't negotiate a price? or at least a starting price?

What if they come back and want to charge you MSRP?

Ordered mine 7/8, still "scheduled to be built" might be awhile longer than you think...

I have the S-plan, so I get invoice pricing... which will be good because my guess is that dealers are going to be unwilling to deal on the 05's. Probably couldnt get it for near invoice even if I negotiated.

If thats true, thats too bad. But talked to the dealers yesterday. Said the car is "on the water now" and late Sept is still the expected delivery date. I've had my share of bad luck, dont need any more

Damn, a 2% price increase can mean an additional $600.00 for the features I want.

Hey Guys...

Congrats on ordering your 8's. Question...why not just take a deal on an '04? I'm not familiar with the '05's bar the fact white is available. Down here in Texas, I have seen many Mazda dealers with a few 8's on the lot.

The 8's that were on the lots were a very early build, and they didn't have anything in the color I wanted or the trim. I didn't want to have to drive long distances to find what I wanted, I live in Nebraska and I really doubt anything fresh would be easy to find.. cars don't really move as quick here as some of your metro areas you people live in. Thus I'm waiting for an '05. No hassle with recalls and bulletin service bullcrap. :D

Also I have the S-plan.. pretty much gauranteed me a slightly below invoice pricing.
So the decision for me is pretty easy!

Exactly! I ordered mine for the same reasons. And I have S-PLan, too.

It'll be nice to be the first person on the block with an 05. Right Denzalo?.

s plan

the s plan is simply a no haggle invoice price. research the car you want on mazzdausa.com then locate it on the site, at the local dealers. call and ask for the internet manager and get offer from him...let him know u are going to shop around,,,,,most likely u can get below invoice depending where u live. check edmunds or kbb.com for invoice pricing.
