I know! I'm 20 and I only pay $900 /6 mo. after discounts for full coverage. People always ask me "Man how much do you pay for insurance for that thing?" and all I can do is laugh.

mine is registered as a 4cyl so i must be twice as good as you.

i had 0cyl but the DMV wouldn't let that fly and put 4cyl.

When I got my car 2 years ago, Geico, About 2000 bux for 1/2 year.

No choice, they were the cheapest, some of the companies like State Farm dont even want to insure me back then !

Now, Still with Geico, about 1200 for 1/2

Still quite expensive, Im going to switch, cuz I asked them 3 times to lower the rate (I ask them every 1/2 year) its only the first 1/2 year they were the cheapest.

I hope that's a year and you're under 25 or you're getting shafted.

It doesn't have 4 doors...only 2+2. They don't count the rear doors because the handles are only on the inside.

but i doubt you have full coverage. im covered to about a half mil on just about everything. and a $100 ded.

usaa counts the rx8 as a 4 door 1.3l 4 cylinder i believe. and i know geico does too. but for the rx8 geico makes a special shaftyouintheass policy.

I know State Farm doesn't care how many doors are on it. I also know that the "Major Auto Insurer" I work for asks, but does not use it to determine rate.

Rates are going to be jacked up because of how hard it is to find a mechanic for a rotary, how hard it is to find parts because of how rare it is, how it is considered a "Sports Car" instead of a "Sedan", etc. The rate differences you see here are going to be mostly because of where you live. State is a major benefit for me because a "Sports Car" doesn't get driven year round. Zip codes also play a major role in rate. And then on top of all that you get your wonderful MVR, CLUE and FR reports on top of it most of the time.

Comparing different people's insurance rates to your own is about as useless as this thread.
