Getting a RX-8 within the month!
Hi! I'm new to the forums and I am going to buy a RX-8 extremely soon. I've already made my mind everything so this is a definite.
I was just wondering, what do you guys think about $400 over invoice?
The options I am getting is only the rear wing spoiler and the alarm shock sensor upgrade. Do you guys think this is okay?
And has anyone heard about gap insurance? I heard that every dealership offers it...
Thanks!

That's not a bad price at all. Some people are claiming to be getting them AT invoice or below though.
There's a thread here about a Gerber rebate that could save you $500. Definitely worth checking out.
Also, if you have a Costco card you can go to certain dealers and get a "costco pricing guide" aka The Invoice! Nifty shopping tool to help you with those sales people.

Screw gas mileage
since no one got it...Gap insurace covers your *** if you owe more money than your car is worth and you total it. Say you just buy your car...and a week later you smash it into a tree. The insurance company will say it's worth 22k or something and you still owe 26000, the gap insurance will cover the other 4k. Everyone worth a damn will give you gap ins. for free, so don't let them charge you for it. If they try to, tell them you'll get your financing somewhere else, and go ck out banks and lendingtree.com, etc.
You can get the car under invoice no prob. Invoice as a literal definition means what the dealer paid for it, but this is not true, because they get deals and breaks, etc. Your best bet is to aim about 1000 under invoice. The sales numbers for the past year just came out, and the RX-8 isn't selling so hot, so they should want to get them moving again. You can look up the invoice price with options on MSN and Yahoo.
