I'm picking up my car probably next week, and am considering adding the following :

Tint
Strakes

What's a reasonable percentage discount to request from the dealer price? What's the usual profit margin for them?

 

You can do a search on prices that others have got on their 8. Don't look at percentages, go to Edmunds.com to look at invoice cost. Your in San Fran, so you may not be able to go under invoice, but try to shoot invoice-500 over... may be your best bet. Again, do a search, most all of your questions may be answered.

 

I actually already negotiated a price on the car - I'm only talking about dealer-installed options. I know for strakes I should ask for the Rosenthal Mazda price, but I was hoping that if I got all 3 - spoiler, strakes, and tint, I could ask for an even bigger discount. Edmunds doesn't have pricing info on these.
