Close on deal, but is there more bargaining room on NEW '07?

I'm getting a quote of about $22000 on a brand new 2007 Sport 6M (no options). Thats not a bad deal, but I'm seeing others on here get better deals...closer to $21K and some even less. Now this is their first offer and this is via online. In all of the 15 cars I've owned, I've never dealt via online so I assume the game is the same and there is still some bargaining room.

I'm going tomorrow to see it and hope to bargain a bit more. Do the old standard rules of new car bargaining still apply? I don't want to jump in the game not knowing the ropes. Think I can get them lower?

I told myself I'd never buy another NEW car, but here I am.

I got my 07 with 8k miles for 21k *23 out the door*. I really didn't have any room to bargain, as they were already hounding me about how little credit I had, and nobody really wanted to finance me. Then again, I got 4 bank statements saying I was denied the finance, lol...I guess they weren't kidding.

tell them to try 21K, cuz remember, 2008 CAME ON THE LOT FOR LONG *** TIME. and 07 .... it has been there for at least a year +

u should tell them straight up, you really want to buy, but you're not going to pay more than 21K for a car that has been on the lot for 1+ year.

and this is just a *sports* model. So 21K sounds about right for a car that has been on the lot for so long.

Thats why u should always check your credit b4 u go, better yet, try to get some financing deals before u go, at least you can use those as a *bargain* weapon. Like tell them *look, they're doing 6%, if u're higher, no reason to do it with you, right?*

To OP : Im telling u, they will do everything to try to get business, especially with the bad economy these days. Life is going to be hard for car dealerships.
