Chicago rx 8 owners, what kind of deal you guys get

I have been seeing alot of people who got great deals on this site but what i noticed sales tax really kills you. For example here in chicago its 8.75% , so i would like to see if any of you guys in the chicago area or illinois got good deals.

I got mine at about invoice ($4k off MSRP) thanks to the S-Plan discount. Tax in my county is a little less thankfully (6.5% I think), so that didn't hurt too bad. There were a lot of great deals being made with excess inventory when the weather was bad around here, but I'm seeing more and more 8's on the roads now that it's warming up.

Cool

I bought a base Titanium Grey RX-8 from Wilkins Buick/Mazda in Villa Park this past Saturday for $24000 (includes the $520 destination charge). Another $500 was taken off for college grad credit. Price negotiations was initiated by email, followed by a couple of phone calls. Once the price was set, the wife and I drove there, met the salesman and started the paperwork. They even beat the 4.00% rate the my credit union was offering down to 3.75%. Easiest car purchase that I've ever than in my life. My recommendation goes to this dealership!!!

I'm happy as hell! Everytime I look out the window from my office to check on my new baby, someone is walking around the car and admiring it.

I also went to Wilkens in villa park. They still have the 3k off deal going, and 0% APR 2-year financing. Sales guy was Paul Anderson, who also said the reason was they bought off two other dealer's stock, and now needed to get rid of them, so at least they have their story straight. Very happy buying experience. And apparently one of their mechanics helped create the M flash and is one of few in the region that is authorized to do certain large scale rebuilds.

That doesn't really matter though, since the car is in my garage and I have a dumb smile on my face...

Hi Guys:

I'm leasing mine, sticker price of $33,820, and capitalized lease cost (including Lake County taxes - 6.75%) of $28,000 and change. Killer deal. This worked to a 48 month lease payment of $365/month, with zero due at inception - sign and drive. I also applied a $1000 Ford/Mazda certificate to it to do away with the due at inception costs.

I got mine at Autobarn in Evanston, and was told that they "gave the car away because of the color" ... apparently the snoots in Evanston don't drive obnoxious Yellow cars.
