Burning Clutch

Hi, I am new to this forum and as yet have not got an RX8.... sill looking!

I test drove one today and it drove very well..... that was, until I needed to reverse manover it to return it to it's forcourt space. I had to go back and forth about 3 times as the space was tight, then I smelld the clutch burning fairly strong. The dealer said it was because I wasn't used to the car. Is this a fair point, or should I avoid the car?

it's 21 months old with 17k miles, 231ps

Any advise greatly appreciated, Thanks

Reverse can be difficult at times. Never burnt the clutch on a RX8 before.

you probably burned the clutch by the way YOU drove it. it only emits that strong smell if you ride the clutch. a worn out clutch wouldn't smell and rx8s aren't known to have clutch problems. im not knocking on your driving abilities because i know that the clutch on the rx8 is pretty sensitive. the dealership was right for saying that you probably weren't used to it. if you purchase it, it will take you a couple of days to get used to it, then you'll be zooming along. good luck and if you purchase the car, this forum is one of the best and knowledgable forums i've ever been a part of.
