I'm in SW Wisconsin, and am planning on buying a 6sp GT (likely 2004) in the next few months. My nearest dealer is Madison (85 miles away) and I will need to look around to find one configured the way I would like. I have no loyalty to any dealer, and I have read most of the posts about current pricing, invoice prices, fair market value, dealer rip-offs, etc. I wonder if anyone has any recent experience with any of the dealers in this area. (By the way, my area can include Minneapolis, Dubuque, Milwaukee, Chicago, or anything in between.) Thanks.

 

Drove by the Mad dealer a couple of days ago and counted 7 on the lot--they've been advertising a 6-speed for around $25,400 in the local papers. Think they'd be willing to deal--they've had this stock for a long time.

 

Just stopped by the Madison dealer last Friday. They have $4000 off MSRP painted on the window. MSRP for red 6sp GT is $31,100, so their sale price is $27,100. Invoice according to Edmunds is $28,620, so this is about $1500 off invoice. (The dealer keeps the $1500 rebate.) What do you all think? This price is advertised, and I have done no negotiating at all. I suspect I could get them lower, but I wonder what I should expect.

I suggest you look at ebaymotors.com. Morries Mazda has new RX8 on auction almost weekly and have an internet saleperson to talk to. They have about dealerships in Chipiwa Falls, Minneapolis, Davenport area. Dave
