'05 Pricing

Hi, I'm new to this forum. Currently I'm looking for an '05 6 MT with Grand Touring Package and Nav. From local dealer, I got an offer of $34,000 out the door. Is this a good price? I found several threads with an '04 pricing, but not an '05.

Thanks

Well, considering the only differences between an '04 and an '05 are a nifty flip-out key and a change in available colours (yellow -> white), why spend more on an '05?

If they have an '04 available and it's any cheaper...TAKE IT :D

If not, I think $35K is a bit steep, but considering the time of the year, maybe not...

Well, I've only looked at one dealer and they don't have an '04. So maybe I should look around for an '04 instead of an '05 because most people on the board is getting in mid $20K's

'04s are getting harder to find. Depends on what part of the country you are in. I think the Midwest has the most '04s left. The '05 also has the SAT button on the radio. (which is actually a selling point for me, though maybe not worth 5 grand.)

So I am also curious to know how far below invoice (if at all) people are getting for their 2005s?

How much do you think your dealer would discount?

dealers in the paper have started to advertise $3500 off list on selected cars.
I bought a 05 6 speed base for 3500 off plus the gerber a few weeks ago.
The Times had better ads than the Register

You got 3500 off on an '05 6-speed? Good information. I would go anywhere in the country to get that kind of deal.

Still in the process of going through with the deal but just got an 05 GT with Nav and MP3 for 31,800 which is about 600 over invoice if you add on the MP3. I will get the Gerber though so it's basically 100 over.

Where are you from? That price sounds great. I wish I come across that kind of deal.

Looking at Edmunds.com it looks like the going price for an RX-8 just about anywhere in the nation is not too much above invoice. I wouldn't go over $32,000 personally.

I went to couple dealers today. I got the quote of $33,500 OTD with Grand Touring Package, Nav, 6 disc changer, and spoiler. Do you think I can do better? I think I'm getting the car itself for around $31,000 (tax is about 6.25%).

Good price. If you can go lower, it's not very much at all. That's below invoice as I recall. Not bad at all.

The dealers around here were offering a 2005 base for $22k and change... but went I went in to them to discuss it... they said it wasn't available. So I reported them to the BBB for false advertising..... so don't always believe what's in your local paper, b/c it's just a ploy to get you in the dealership.

If anyone is interested in a basically new, fully loaded except for Nav, low mileage 2004, shoot me a PM.

The Deadlers around here list the VIN # with the ad. The you can go to MAZDAUSA.COM and see what car it is and if it is available. If it still there after they say it is gone I would report them to Mazda also

See that's the thing... no VIN numbers... it was just a deal they were running on Base RX8's. They tried to pull the "it's only available on a limited number of cars which we must have sold" routine... however, no where on the ad does it say that. Not next to the pricing, not in the fine print on the bottom of the page, no where....

If you want to guarantee yourself the lowest possible price, try using the mycar.com website. For 19.95, you can pick any model car you want and the 10 dealers nearest to your zip code will get one week to bid against each other to give you a price. Kind of like an ebay auction, and you are under no obligation to buy the car when it is over.
