So, you ordered the first 10, and are waiting for them to arrive so you can send them out to us? (Sorry for being so antsy, but I'm sure you understand. ) Are you going to post when they go in the mail? Thanks in advance.

I'm not jumping up and down like Dannobre, but close.

Hey, I just had an idea. (Surprised me, too.) Can you make a similar leather boot for the e-brake? I've seen leather e-brake handle covers, but I'm talking about a boot around the base. It would replace the plastic part that always breaks in cold weather. I haven't looked at how it would attach, but I wonder if it's been done, and if you could design one to match our shift boots.

Deep breaths, like I said anyone in Blue is taken care of, as in your boots are shipped.

As for the leather parking brake I pretty sure mazda has already done this, did they change the stitching colors as well?

Excellent....

I don't think the parking brake have different stitching colours. I am interested as well if you decide to go for it but how? It goes around the handle very tightly.

Heres a pic for those that wanted to see the Red Leather, btw that's a black and grey all the way on the left for someone that isn't on the list.

I am kind of interested in both - a leather handle with colored stitching, and a leather boot to go around the base. I'm pretty sure the Mazda handles come in colored (or black) leather, but all have black stitching. I'm not aware of Mazda making any leather e-brake boots.

I just looked closer at my e-brake during lunch, and I don't know how one would attach a leather boot to it. It looks like the whole handle would need to be changed. Any ideas?

Playa78,

sorry to steal your other thread.
But I love your **** and I think it will go great with the custom boot. The leather is good and if it is red, it will look even better than the red leather around it

PoLak,

I have not had a chance to take pic and the boot has been in for 2 weeks. It looks and feel great.
Only transmit more sounds from the tranny. I have the RP shifter and I know I have the whine but it seems to be more coming through. I guess it is because the foamy thing underneath the boot is not sitting as high as it used to be. I lift it up slightly and the noise is gone. May be it is my MazdaSpeed **** that pushing it further down. Where do I get similar material so that I can make myself a bigger foamy thingy ??

Well mazda sends this black spongy material with the illuminated ****. https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...chmentid=44154

I ended up taking out the ugly green insulation stuff because it made it too thick, but the black foam stuff could be purchased in the US at like a Home Depot or a Lowes.

Good tip... I will try it this weekend and see. People said taking the green stuff out will reduce noise of short shifter all together... I will see
