I know the first version of the Mazdaspeed exhaust did not give any power gains. What about this one? Any power gains???

Also, would you be doing a group buy on the CAI? I am assuming that will give some more power....

Even if it does give power gains it's not going to noticeable. There is no exhaust out there that would generate a lot of power w/o replacing the midpipe.

But with 3' diameter piping I would think there would be a small improvement.

Jason: Are you sure the exhaust does not hang lower? Seem like it angles a bit lower than oem.

By looking at the pic I don't think it has a 3" pipe, maybe 2.5"? I'll wait for the sound clip before I consider selling my Greddy SP2.

Jeff
The tips are one of the reasons that Mazda has delayed the exhaust this long is that the tips stuck out to far. so Mazda told them to redesign it.

also, bagman, im sure my reasons are the same as everyone...but im sure once the details are fully out, you wont have any problems with sales
For that reason alone this group buy will be open til Jan 31st

Hope to see your names. If at all possible if you could go to the wesite and go through the steps of pre-order that way I can have more solid count. When you go to the site there will be a box marked "GROUP BUY" click on that and rest will be point and click.

Thanks for all the support all of you are giving,

I'd really like to hear what this thing sounds like, but telling by the quality of other MS parts I've purchased, I'm sure it will sound nice. The MS exhaust for the MX-3 sounded nearly identical to stock (even at WOT), which is the only reason I didn't go for it (and the $800 price tag). For that money I wanted something that at least sounded a little more agressive, although I loathe the loud, ricey, obnoxious-sounding mufflers I hear on a lot of the imports.

I'm really excited though about this new MS exhaust and I plan to order one after the first of the year from the groupbuy (got some cash back from a home refinance so I'm going to treat myself!). I didn't like the single muffler design of the first MS exhaust, so I've been following the development of this new one since it first hit the boards. Thanks for getting the groupbuy together!

Did I hear that there would be a MS CAI groupbuy sometime in February?

I'll be looking forward to seeing your name on the list.

As far as doing the group buy it is my pleasure.

As for Feb's group buy yes I do plan on making the CAI that months group buy, as soon as I have a true price on it I will announce it to the world.

Actually I am sitting at 5 confirmed and @ another 7-9 verbal commitments. so if this holds true and everybody goes to the website and does the pre-order 15 is going to be easy to get so just consider this group buy as a sure thing.

Fully commited on this a little earlier today. Come on guys, I dont think you'll find a better price on a higher quality exhaust anywhere. You know mazda isnt going to allow it to sound bad or ricey. And you know it will sound more aggressive than the first exhaust. Why else would they release a second one? Not to mention the 7 pound weight savings. The only way you are gonna save more weight than that is with a titanium one, and then you'll really pay out the end.

Sorry to be a pain, but did you have a chance to get the info, on what diameter the middle pipe is? And also the diameter of the tubing to the mufflers if different from the middle pipe.

Also is the group buy only for the first 15? Or is it just a min of 15 +

I still havent gotten a response from Mazda on mid pipe dia. I just need a min of 15, once I reach that # everybody from that point until the 31st of Jan get it at the group buy price.
