It looks a lot like the AEM CAI from the pictures I've seen of both, I'll certainly get it as soon as I can afford it, increased gas mileage is a plus in my book, not voiding the warranty is a bigger plus in my book.

I just got off the phone with Mazda. I am know starting to take pre-orders on the new Muffler. I should be able to get them to you before X-MAS. Will not bill them to you until they come in.

Website price 516.00 and that does include UPS Ground shipping.

They are to become avail. @ wed of next week.

They are listed in the accessories section-rx-8-mazdaspeed

your stock exhaust has ONE GIANT muffler... take a look... the first MS exhaust is the same design as the stock one...

awsome thanks, I really like the look of that new muffler, looks like it will save some weight over stock and also looks like it might be a bit louder (just going from the fact that the chambers are smaller)

its called 'lightweight dual muffler' I wonder what its made of, is it stainless, i would think 645MSRP is to cheap for TI, maby aluminized?

The cold air intake is also ver interesting, looks like mazda is going against all the obvious time and design in the stock intake and going with what you see more of on the market, just a tube with a filter. I dunno how I feel about that.

In some ways its nice to see they are still working on products for the car, and they are obviously looking at whats on the market, and taking design ques from that, but im also not so sure about that, are they really putting time in, to design and make a quality part that does something? or are they just making a copy of what they see on the market and hope to sell them to make some bucks?

we shall see I guess

The exhaust is stainless and you are probably correct in that it will probably be noticably lighter.

As for the CAI, I think the picture is rather generic cause it looks just like the picture for the 3's CAI. When I get one in I will post as many pictures as I think will be needed to get the look of it for you guys and gals.

^definitely need a 'installed' pic of the CAI to show the full effect

i still like my stealthy RB intake/air duct setup better though

No it is not mandatory to have a Mazda dealer install the parts to retain your factory warranty and since most of the Mazdaspeed parts are only a limited parts warranty your not going to loose that either.

There are some items that I would recommend that you have a dealer install, but the muffler and CAI are not in that group.

i hope its kinda like :

Brum, BRuummm, BRRRRUUUUUMMMMMMM, Ehhhhhhh, Ehhhhhhhhhhhh, EHHHHHH POP, Ehhhhhh.........

honestly I hope it has a nice mellow deep tone at idle and up to maby 4k, then from 4-6k go fromt hat deep mellow tone to agresssive growl, then from 6k to redline just be ***** out mean, like a GT car/F1 car, high pitch note not too loud and a hint a metalic.

Please let us know when you see one if it has larger tips than the stock setup. It would be nice if they are 4 inch like all the others.

Can't wait to hear what this exhaust will sound like. I wonder if it will have the same problem with discoloration of the tips. This would be a great x-mas gift.

The new exhaust definately looks sexy. I'm officially adding it to my x-mas wishlist and possibly the CAI as well. Keep us informed!
