Brian, How long did it take you to get through the border coming back? I was up last week and it took 3 hours on a Thursday around noon - is that the average do you know?

Wow. That's definitely not normal. Did you use the Peace Arch crossing or did you go through the truck crossing? The truck crossing has been kind of screwed up and taking longer than it usually does because of all the contruction. 99% of the time the truck crossing is much faster than the Peace Arch. Coming home the other night we got to the boarder at about 11:30. It took 15 minutes to get through and that's just because they only had one lane open. Usually even that late at night there are two lanes open and you can get through in 5 minutes or less.

I actually got myself a Nexus pass so I don't have to deal with the obnoxious lines on holidays and when weird things like your 3 hour ordeal happen. Unfortunately everyone in your car needs a Nexus pass to use that lane. So when I go to games with my friends I'm stuck using the normal lanes like everyone else.

Ohhhhh... construction, no wonder. We went to the truck crossing because it's always been so much faster. I happened to get in the far left lane where they were doing searchs, but we didn't see that until it was too late to move Oh well... I probably won't go up again until next August when there's another family reunion.

Well, finally got my windows tinted today. I was planning on having 30% tints but Carlos ran out of film for 30% when I brought my 8 to his shop. He did tell me he had film for 35% tints, but I found them too light for my taste. So I asked him to show me 20%. Carlos then told me the usual, "well 20% is beyond the legal limit for tints..." I then told him, "hmmm.. okay let me think about it." Two seconds later I said, "Let's do it."

So I got 20% on all sides and the back.
