Beer and BBQ. I've got the tools, but no place to do the work. Mind you, I wasn't as much help as ought to have been with my springs, but it's really just a matter of taking the time and doing it right.

Are you upgrading the shocks too? If you don't have them already, I'd recommend holding off on the spring install untill you can get the shocks too.

No..I think I just want to install the springs and I don't want to upgrade the shock.
beer and snack should be no problem, but I can't do bbq, coz I live in apartment ...I think we can do it at my apartment basement parking. How many people do you think should be enough to help the instalation?
thanks kristopher

Well, for mine it took danobre, a little help from me, and about half dozen folks to supervise.

How's the light in your parking garage? If it's anything like mine, it'll be a PITA to do any work on the car there.

I have the same springs and have been procrastinating installing them as well.

I may be interested in watching/helping.

Yeah.. I really need supervision and the tools... ..my parking garage has a yellowish light, but there are several ventilations in the garage. I think it should be ok if we do it when the sun is still up there ..

I did mine myself, with shocks and sway bar/upgraded endlink install. Sucked to do it alone, but it was fine and I got it done in like 4 hours I think, with some breaks. I wouldn't want to do it in an apartment garage, though.

I just got my Tanabe GF210 springs yesterday and I called Speedware Motorsports at Redmond and asked how much they charge if I have them install it. They told me it was around $540 for install and alignment.

I think I'll wait.

Guys I would definitely get shocks and install them at the same time. It's basically double the work otherwise since you pull out the shocks and springs as a single unit. Plus the shocks are underdamped for anything stiffer than Racingbeat's springs.

I wish I had done the shocks at the same time when I had my springs installed. The car performs much better but I'm going to have to pull them apart again in about 2 weeks when I finally buy my shocks.

Also you'll need to get an alignment done after you get your springs installed and that's usually about $100 on this car. Speedware and Umazda both charge that much but Speedware will give you a performance alignment and the dealer won't.

I asked Lee Johnson Mazda how much if I had them install the springs. I was quoted about $590 just for the installation - not including any alignment.

So yup, I'll wait until I can get the shocks and have everything installed at the same time if I'm spending that much for an install and alignment.

Sounds like we need to find a time and place to have a spring/shock party. There's a bunch of you that are ready to do this mod, and I've got the spring compressors already.

Eh... not really. My garage isn't very big. It's fine for working on a car by myself, but with more people it'd be a challenge with my air compressor and tool boxes in the way.

I don't use my garage for work anymore anyways, friends with their own shop let me use it on occasion on the weekends. Lifts are so awesome.

Stopping in from the NSX forums.

I was searching around and came across your post. It sounds like you got some Tein S-Tech's and need to get them in, and get a performance alignment... just on a budget.

If you are up for a garage DIY some night/weekend... I am in the area and have a set of spring compressors / air tools / torque wrench, etc... and can easily do the swap, then get you set with alignment specs of your choosing depending on what you want.

IMHO most all of our local "pro motor-sports" shops do marginal suspension work for the dollar and I can say I've used them all at one point or another. $569 or whatever it was is ridiculous, not sure what happened to the days when mechanics had to actually work for at least an hour before charging for one.

If interested feel free to drop a PM.

Best Regards,

John
